Good afternoon to you all

So i am just about buy new Swivel Balls and i want to make sure i buy good quality OEM manufactured ones and not crap pattern ones.

after a lot of research after seeing a few photos of broken swivel balls on the tinterweb i believe OEM made in Turkey are the ones to go for as genuine LR are twice the price!!

I found this report done by the military very interesting and helpful

So before i buy i was just wanting your guys input on what you have fitted.

Have you fitted pattern ones that has made in Turkey on the box?

I used the Britpart kit supplied by Paddocks, been on around 5 or 6 years and 20k miles with no problems so far. In fact gave them a quick once over last week while doing the fluids, no marks, no fluid leaks - mind you that could be down to the use of one shot grease.

I’ve always used britpart ones and they’re still dandy 10yrs later

One thing a few people have found on here (including me) is that there are a batch of swivel balls knocking around where a bit too much meat has been left on the interior and they foul the outer casing of the CV joint. I had to open mine out a little with a die grinder to get the full range of movement without binding.

From what i see in some photos i have seen i think wheel spacers have alot to play in them braking

I can imagine. I try and keep a list of what parts are acceptable from britpart/bearmach etc and which I buy from a specific manufacturer or which LR brand. I don’t always think that just because it’s a brand and expensive it’s better, although it often is!

love how much detail you’ve gone into. Where is that document from?

I managed to get a couple of genuine originals, they will end up costing about £175 each by the time they arrive but at least they should last.
