Hi,
Need to look at doing the infamous swivel ball joints soon, but I'm not sure which ones to buy.
I'm worried about the quality of the rubber boot. I bought some Delphi OEM ball joints for the defender a while back thinking they would be better, but within a year they'd completely split.
Has anyone got a recent experience about any of the various brands?
Also, I've been advised the Delphi ones can be loose in the axle, heard this before?
Thanks

Im putting Delphi ones in this year. Ive always found their stuff to be good, but ive no experience yet on the D2. I do very low mileage though and the car has an easy life.

Lemforder were OE - but even they have different manufacturing plants. Hopefully all making the same quality to the same specifications
I noticed the last pair I bought had an Eastern Bloc country name on the box, unlike other Lemforder joints and bushes I've bought over the years.

Thanks for the advice, guess I'll get the lemforders.
Wonder if the boot could be replaced by a polyurethane version, as that seems to be better than this modern rubber?

I think there's a place on flea bay which sells silicone replacements but it's case of measuring the size of the boot you have & ordering the correct size.
