Lately my truck slips out of 3rd often. I have to have a hand on shift stick all the time to keep it in third.
I searched the forums and other sides for this problem and cannot find any pictures of videos that explain how to solve this problem without an expensive overhaul of gearbox. Is there any simple and easy (by simple and easy I mean not so expensive) solution?
If you have photos or link to videos I greatly appreciate that.
as always thanks for your advise in advance

the only thing you can do without taking box out is change the lhs detent spring

Thanks everybody. Is this the kind of thing I could do with basic tools if I find the springs?
Kermit up the hills this old thing needs the third otherwise the very civilized and patient citizen blow their damned horns and make asses of themselves more than nature intended.

theres a blackright angle plated secured with 2 bolts on box top on lhs that holds the spring and ball, wort a try though
