P38A Drive shaft half shaft

On the long side there’s a cir clip and a spacer type thing but on the short side no cir clip or spacer got the cir clip with the new cv joint but no spacer I’ve it’s supposed to have one on the short side does anyone know the part number I’ve looked on my copy of rave but can’t even find the page let alone the spacer thanks for advice

Any suggestions greatly appreciated cheers

Normally there is a clip on there, as for a spacer???

Just did mine too. This is the long side, and its "spacer/retainer". Can not confirm if there is one on the short side.

Thanks been in touch with suppliers they seem to agree they are obsolete now I’m sure mine hasn’t just fallen off I think there not on the short side

You've got me worried now. It is years since I had mine out and I am desperately trying to remember if I saw any spacers.

You'll have to get @markpiercy to have a look as he has his sons front axle off to change the diff.

I'll take a mooch tomorrow for you

That looks an easier way to change the diff than the way I did it from under the car on my back.

I was thinking that Alan doing all mine on axle stands and jacks

I’ve found this for a defender just checked my long half shaft they are exactly the same diameter and with I’ve you need some

looking at this short side, it looks like the shaft of another model with and adaptor on it?
made for the job I think.

Spacers in both sides if this is the place. These could be original?
