Hello all, I've finally bought a Landover (lived in Indonesia for the last 8 years so couldn't have one) , I'm looking forward to being part of this community!

I'm currently looking to buy a diagnostic tool for my Freelander TD4 2001, any recommendations would be most welcome!

I've bought and installed over 30 last year not one issue. PM me and I can have a look could be something silly.

With a TD4 you obviously need good connectivity to the engine ECU for checking fuel pressures etc as well as reading/clearing codes - does it provide this on a 2001 TD4? I don't think they were fully ODBII compliant.

With Freelander it is also needed that it can communicate with the ABS ECU as these are probably the most common faults to need diagnosis - will it talk to the ABS - and more specifically the Teves mk20 which was only used for 2 years in Freelander?

2002 td4 worked fine and 2001 petrol with mk20 worked fine as well. 2005 petrol works fine but these are all the freelanders I've had/have. I believe Andy tested it more widely.

Why a 2001 TD4?
I think GG was referring to the fact that a 2001 TD4 isn't OBD2 compliant, so a basic OBD2 reader doesn't work on it.

That cheap Delphi does seem do everything, although I'm having issues with mine at the moment. It's not just tied to LR vehicles, as it connected with every vehicle I tried it on, including the wife's 2002 BMW E46 convertible, my 2005 TD4 auto and the daughter's Fiat 500.

Interesting comments, am I to assume that this device will not work on a 2001 diesel Freelander then ? And will it communicate with abs etc as well as engine ?(incase of a 3 amigos issue)
