Hi all

Anyone know of a good place near Wolverhampton where I can get rear brakes and drums etc replaced?

Cheers

Ask for Mick or Tony, they will sort you out i'm sure I am not attached to this garage but will recommend them

Just had a look at taking the offside drum off. It appears that the shoes my be catching the drum stopping me taking it off. Is there a manual adjuster to pull the shoes back in? If so where is it and how do I do it?

Much appreciated as always...

look on the back plate and there is a rubber Gromit pull it out and with a torch you will see the adjuster -a wheel with saw teeth on you can adjust it backwards also I bet on one of the clips has either come off or the piece that goes through the back plate and brake shoes has snapped

Do I need any special tools to lose the adjuster?

No you will only need a flat blade screw driver, once you have the drum off clean with wire brush all the back plate and shoes, also inside the drum, wear a mask.

Thanks again for the help chaps. Have changed the shoes, springs and drums today. Now I have a handbrake which is no longer an ornament...

Will it hold on Tettenhall rock to Bridgnorth hill though or even the Bridgnorth Hermitage ;) it should do give the drums a clean out at least twice a year is best.
