Hey I hope you can help, I've recently bought a 2000 P38 4.6 vogue with BRC lpg fitted.
It does need work done but I've been knocking away at it
However
Today out of nowhere the lpg light went to red and would flicker when the accelerator was pressed. It would stay solid when off the accelerator pedal. I've checked wires (visually) , checked with a code reader and disconnected the battery for an hour but still the same

Worth noting up till this point the lpg worked great . When the above happened the car started running really rough and lumpy , like head bouncing off the headrest lumpy.

Sorry for the long winded issue on a Tuesday

All help is welcomed and appreciated

When was the LPG system last serviced?

Has it run out of gas?! Could be the fuel guage for the gas is faulty?

Argh poo beat me to the empty. Have a check on the LPG Tank for a small gauge as on most the dial will show a similar row of lights. If red the tank near enough empty. This give the effect of stalling or struggle to start. Switch to petrol first to check no issue with petrol running then flick over to LPG to confirm gas stutter.

Could be the sender in the tank thinks it is out of gas (its a float and potentiometer I think) and so it dips towards empty when you put yr toe down and the gas sloshes backwards.
Or, it needs a proper service and setting up again.

The strange thing is the switch lights don't change if going from gas to petrol at the moment and it runs the exact same no matter if the switch is on gas or petrol lol

Does anyone know anyone that services these in central Scotland?

Thanks again for the help folks

On mine, flashing red light is low pressure at the vaporiser. Could be the vaporiser needs looking at or maybe it's too small?
Does it do it on light throttle or just when you boot it?

Hi there. Does it no matter what. Has been great since bought the car then this out of nowhere

What's involved in replacing the vaporiser?

Could also be solenoid on tank playing up.
If you find manual for your system it should tell you what the flashing red light refers to.
Fitting new vaporiser like for like is easy but they're not that cheap. You can get refurb kits for them but I'd do a bit more digging before you start spending.

Well after disconnecting the battery for over an hour again it has sorted itself out. Now runs smooth on petrol and lpg so no idea what the hell had happened.
Still want to get it serviced and set up as I don't know when it was last done so if anyone knows anywhere in central Scotland that does this and is trustworthy then please let me know.

Thank you all for your help I really appreciate it and I will be posting more things that I need to do to it soon lol

Thank you

Watch your plugs with lpg as well they wear out the tips quickly and don’t bother with expensive plugs. My L322 runs fine on single tip Brisk plugs which were about £34 for 8. FullFat forum highly recommend them as did my service guy and also added I should try a rad cooler additive as the heads run a little hotter when using lpg.
