MAF and poor running help.

Hi guys.

Iv got an 04 Td4 that is running rough. I had thought injectors at first but now I'm thinking MAF. It seems to have an aftermarket MAF and I think it is in the wrong place (between the intercooler and EGR) could this cause a miss fire at certain RPMs?

Also I found a worrying Blob of metal filled oil under the MAF but found no more elsewhere in the system. Has anyone seen this before?

That's the boosted air intake temperature sensor. It's normally in black plastic housing, but otherwise it should be there.

The MAF is on the turbo side of the air filter. It's visible once the air filter cover is removed.

Any metallic particles found in the intake can only come from 1 place, the turbo.
