Meat loaf was wrong, 2 out of 3 ain't good....

I have 2 of the 3 amigos appearing, then disappearing , then coming back

TC and Rapid Hill Descent have come on, gone of, come on again.

Sometime a restart makes it go away, sometime it just goes on its own.

No regularity, and currently (2 days) not on., car driving okay, so anyone willing to give a punt where I should look first??? have MOT at end of month, and don't what the little buggers to pop up when MR MOT is in the drivers seat.

I have an '05 td4 and have had just two lights on (I forget which one doesn't come on), I looked it up and it turned out to be something to do with a warning for the brake light switch being faulty. I checked the lights and sure enough they didn't work. Found the switch under the pedal and made sure that it was located properly (which is wasn't) and the dash warning lights went out and the brake lights worked again.

Wish people would say which freelander it is

It's obviously an FL1 in this case, as the FL2 doesn't suffer from the 3 amigo's.

Yeh, but 3 different ABS installations in the F1 dependent on year.

....but the answer is always the same.... RTFC.

I find it's usually to do with abs sensor gubbings...

I know he said it ain't bad, which is why in this case, 2 out of 3 ain't good.

I think you may have hit the nail on the head.

Car being prepped for MOT and mechanic said she needs new front Pads. Is there a sensor on the pads to warn? Maybe its setting everything off.

If there are lights, there will be codes. You may need to read them while the lights are lit. You'll definitely need diagnostic kit capable of communicating with the Freelander ABS - for example ODBII dongles don't talk to ABS.

Don't think any F1 had sensors in the brakes.

My issue was just with the brake pedal switch, once I re-seated it, problem went away.

If it's showing lights, then it's got to have codes. You'll need a reader that has access to the ABS ECU. A generic OBD2 reader won't access the ABS ECU.

No pad sensor on the FL1 brake pads.
