Refitted my now overhauled turbo on my 06 td4
Will not run on past 2000 revs
Do I need to idle first so ecg can recognise the alterations as a egr blank is also fitted?

Is the turbo spinning ok?

The EGR bypass is just a pipe, and blanking plate, hopefully on a stick?

Be warned EGR blanking is now a dangerous fail in the new MOT.

You'll need to check all the wiring to the sensors. Are there any warning lights on?

There was a engine warning light on before I reckoned the turbo. But that is cleared, so no not now.
Its starting to go to 3000
I wonder if the ecg needs to 're read everything.

Nope. The EDC is a dumb unit. It simply fuels the engine based on signals from the sensors. There's no learning or adaptations to alter in the system. It either gets all good data from the sensors and runs the engine properly. Or it gets out of range data and tries to run the engine the best it can. If it's not revving, then something is wrong.

Almost feels like air starvation.
As I said it revs nice to 2000 Then hesitatates and goes to 5000 not fast like a petrol but in say 3 seconds

Should I have pressure in my intercooler pipes?
I can squeeze them, I'm new to td4 and diesels.
I've Che ked hoses and no splits.
There should be pressure, yes.

All sorted, turns out when I clipped the air filter to turbo plastic hose on it came out the rubber washer end. Could not see it clearly as the solinoid was blocking its view, so punched it in and hey presto.
Many thanks to all that helped give advice, I hope one day I can do the same for someone else.
