I do a lot of sitting in supermarket car parks while SWMBO spends my money and chats to all her friends inside. When I first got this vehicle, I was parked under an Aldi tree and thought a branch was tapping the top of the car in the wind.
The next few times, it became obvious that the sound was from the boot area, so I assumed it was the suspension pump. I did nothing about it because I didn't want to have to empty the boot in public.
Today we went to Sainsbury's and I sat there with the tapping and scraping/whirring noise, so decided to investigate. The noise was obviously from the nearside side panel in the boot, so flipped the cover off to find it was the satnav CD exiting from the CD player and, I assume, had been hitting the soundproofing on the back of the cover.
Pulled the cover well away and put the CD back in its slot, but it promptly came back out. After several rounds of this, I thought I might start cleaning things in there , so wiped my finger across the top of the CD player to see how much grime came off. The CD promptly pulled itself back into the player, and sat there as if nothing had ever happened.

These noises had been happening for about 9 months and during this time the satnav has been used many, many times. I assume that if the CD was out, it pulled in when I selected the satnav.

Presumably, the CD is meant to be put in the player and should stay in until the button on the Pioneer CD player is pressed. The area seems quite dry and fairly clean and everything else there seems to work as it should.

I'd be interested in any observations about this.

Just had mine refurbished buy a company call sounds secure. Mine started to slow down and had trouble reading the disc and eventually stopped working altogether.
