Hi all,

Well the inevitable has happened, no more than a week and a half after replacing my goosed fuel pump the next problem has reared it's head (oh how I miss my reliable Japanese hatchback)

Driving home tonight, cattle trailer in tow (empty at this point) drove over a narrow dip in the road and got a real solid thud in return. Very much like the suspension had bottomed out.
With a bit of a wince and a shout of ouch I thought nothing more of it.
However when I went to take the trailer off I noticed the back o/s bag was on its arse.
N/s seems ok.
Won't pump if I press the button to raise it. The light just keeps flashing.

I have been having problems, particularly with the O/S going down if parked on a slope ie. On a N/S on a kerb. And definitely if parked with s trailer on both sides will drop.

Would you say this is most likely the bag (s) or more likely the pump or other component? If it's likely something else I'll just concert it to springs otherwise I'll get some bags ordered tomorrow.

Thanks in advance

Sounds like a bag. There's lots of parts to the system but the bags are the usual culprits.
Remember if you go to springs you won't get the excellent-for-towing self levelling suspension.
Plenty of pages on here re soapy water diagnostics and how to change etc.

Certainly sounds like the bags to me.
I would advise that you change both at the same time, if you're using Dunlops, the old pipe fittings will have to be cut off.
Use a sharp blade; a Stanley knife, cut them square and don't damage, scratch or distort the pipes. Make sure that you push them fully home.
The air suspension is a good system, and fairly cheap and easy to maintain; bags at about 160 quid a pair, ride height sensors at 25 quid each. The only expensive part is the pump, but that's a lot more robust than people tend to think.

Cheers guys,
As far as I'm aware though can't be 100% it's still on original bags so no surprises if they are going.
Got 2 on order to pick up tomorrow. See how it goes.
Will update when bags are swapped

Problem solved. 2 new bags fitted. All working fine. All went well apart from one bag didn't inflate correctly but sorted it by jacking chassis and lowering until it sat right.
One side does seem a touch higher now though but it may be an illusion it was dark
Thanks again for your help folks

If you didnt disconnect the battery before changing the bags you might need a target height recalibration for sensors with tester
