Header tank blew up!

Hi all,

Had my 6 month old header tank let go in a big way! Seems to have unglued itself?

Anyone else had this happen to them?

Funnily enough just bought it a few weeks ago from landrover the cap that is.

Had to replace the bottle cap on my old Disco V8 once because it wasn't holding the right pressure. The new one from a LR parts supplier was even worse than the one being replaced!

First job I did after buying my freelander 1.8K was to replace the bottle. It came with a new cap but I reused the old one as it seemed better quality. Made me a bit nervous of it when the sticker peeled off almost immediately. Still have it in the boot though just in case.

Well the garage is fitting an official Land Rover part this time. They'll be testing the system just to make sure it's not been over pressurising so fingers crossed I get the landy back today.

I do know that but if the manufacturer can't fit a sticker properly what are the chances of the lid being a good one.

Well that's me screwed. Head gasket seems to have gone again. Possibly the sleeves have moved. So bout ready to burn it now.

yes,massive issues,i wont you that brand on my defender,and now the wife has a freelander they wont be going on that either,i only use bearmach TBH,no issues
