Hi guys I've searched for this but not come up with anything, my 90 currently has steel wheels but am hoping to change them for alloy wheels instead, so what's the best choice of 16in alloy wheel which will fit straight on without the need for modification? Heard not many wheels fit due to the rear drums

What year of 90 is it?? Does it have the older Deep type drive flanges or the newer thin type drive flanges?? this is important as to what will fit.

Alternativly does the rear axle have drums if so its very very likley that the drive members are the deep type in which case the alloys will not fit the front axle unless they are made to fit the early axles

200 tdi's should have the deep type flanges in which case alloys available are limited or wheel spacers are requires

Disco 1 wheels bolt straight on mine (1989 landy 90 ) just have to leave the hub caps off:)

3 spoke RRC rims wouldnt fit mine the alloy itself fouls the flange bolts and i'll admit its very very close if you use the 13mm headed drive flange bolts instead of the 17mm headed bolts.

I turned down my drive flanges on the front as much as dare and then some more. I then used the 13mm headed bolts and it was alright but no way were they fitting without mods. later disco rims may have a larger internal void where it sits over the hubs.

It's 1992 90 with rear drums, i don't really want to **** about modifying the hubs, I might just bite the bullet and give the white wheels some black paint ha save money and hassle thanks though guys I see what it looks like with the new colour if it looks crap I guess il dig into my bank account :)

Same here as you know i have your ones on mine with centre caps off mine and mine is a 89 90

Told yer they'd fit, and they do look good:)

See, you don't have to modify anything, just get some Disco 1 alloys off ebay and bung em on, you will need the ally wheel wheel nuts though;)

Later ones do 300 tdi are all the same. Early 200 tdi disco's and RRC have domed stub shafts at the front where as early 90's110's etc had a one piece cv outer shaft and used the thick drive flanges. they look and are in dimension very different.

I'll have to believe you on that but mine all looked the same

Which also means that 300 tdi wheels will not fit 200tdi hubs???

not sure I think they made them fit the domed hubs but not the early 90 ones.. The stud pattern are the same 200 300 300 differs again as it has the narrow bearing spacing and a shorter stub axle.

Dispite the stub axles having the same bearing spacing The protrousion of the centre of the hub is whats important. they stick out the same in the centre but the edge of the drivemember/stubshaft is different as the rrc and Disco are domed ) the early Def are square ].

The problem with the front being disc braked hub means you have an extra hub sticking through. The rear hub has the thickness of the brake drum less and thus clears RRC 3 spoke rims ok. The fronts stick through that little bit more 6/8mm which fouls the rear of the alloy itself. All this was on RRC 3spoke rims not later disco rims.
