Hi all, and happy new year!
Got a day laning planed for tomorrow and have just discovered that the fan belt tensioner bearings on my Td5 have disintegrated (again)...
It's a real long shot but does anyone have either a spare belt tensioner, pulley wheel, or bearings kicking around in...

That's the curb weight, the gross vehicle weight is different... From Wikipedia:
-
They have a gross vehicle weight of about 1700kg, which is below the 2000kg. A defender's is about 2200kg or something...
So would a 110 hard top or 130 hard top need a different MOT? Not that I have one
-
Is that so? I understood the determining factor to be the gross vehicle weight over 2 tons?
-
Just a bit of food for thought which hadn't dawned on me before about speed limits...
If, like me, you've got a defender hard top this is classed as a van and the speed limits are slightly different? Not many people know it but on a single carriageway is 50mph and on a dual carriageway it's...

Howdy!
One of the wires on the diff-lock sensor has pulled out of the little plug that goes in to the transfer box... It doesn't look very fixable - any ideas where I could get a replacement? Anyone know the part number? I've lived without the light on the dash for the last 6 months but might...

I knew you wouldn't let me down with the TD5 Shifty... ;)
OK, here's what we've got...
Fuel filter was changed about 10,000 miles ago and it pulls like a steam-train once it's running (smooth power right through the revs)
I've always had the black smoke, that's all fine, it's just the...

Hi Guys!
The 90 is struggling to start, I have to give it a little bit of gas as it's turning. It also kicks out a load of white smoke... I've put a video on YouTube - any ideas anyone?

You're effectively casting a shadow over the windscreen - You should be able to get the lip perfect so the light just misses the bonnet but hits the road exactly where you need it to. Let us know how you get on
-
The problems is that the light can get down on to the windscreen. On the camel disco, the lights are set further back so the bit of roof stops the light. Have at look at the X-Lite and you'll see the light is set back in the casing. You could probably do the same but sticking a small lip on the...

The half shafts are both fine - with the air locker engaged both wheels are still locked together and one wheel would still turn... Neither are though so unless it's both of them (which I hadn't actually though of) then it's got to be somewhere else.
-
Successful day on Sunday - killed the front diff (I know it was on it's way out, oops) so took the front prop shaft off and carried on. Ten minutes later did the back one as well. Bugger.
Back one's got an ARB locker in, which still works fine, however the prop shaft turns with diff lock but...

And I was impressed when I got 24mpg on the last fill! It's usually nearer 22mpg, but then again, I'm usually in quite a hurry! :D
-
Maybe a home-made '07 bonnet?
-
Haha, nice! Mine's on a 52 plate so want it to look as good as that in 20 years, so time to start looking after it I guess!
