£1700 to replace sills and boot floor?!?

Seriously, as a landy owner you'd be better placed investing that £1700 in a course to learn welding...

    Modern day equivalent ?

I don't believe I said it wasn't maintained. Only that it's worked hard. Serviced every 2000 miles but towing at full capacity over rough terrain for nearly 200,000 miles takes it's toll. Would love an FC as a replacement but I'm not sure it could take the strain. Have been milling over the...

    Modern day equivalent ?

Evening all, don't usually frequent the FC/101 boards (or even profess to know much about them!) Anyway. Have been looking for a new vehicle primarily for farm work and on road duties. The load capacity of the 110 just isn't cutting it and frankly it keeps breaking down. After milling over...

What the F is this noise ???

Think I'll be checking the prop bolts tomorrow! Thanks Paul.

What the F is this noise ???

Thanks all, forgot to mention, only happens on overrun. Gone as soon as you put any power down. Also makes the same noise when you roll in neutral or in gear. It kind of progressively got worse over time

What the F is this noise ???

Some of you may remember my recent gearbox woes. We'll if not I recently fitted a new lt77 into my 200tdi. So, all has gone well for about 1000miles. Gave the gearbox and axels a service last week and changed all the oils. (Also found a small leak at the drain plug which is hopefully rectified...

    Coolest Landrover you've seen thread

The one in the pics is actually on a rover V8 chassis (not vw). Is running a 3.9 RR V8 with a 3 speed auto box. Have a look on retro rides for "slammed rover" for more info.

    Exhaust stack

There's a 90 running round near me with a truck stack running up the rear quarter with a little flappy lid at roof level. Not sure it serves any purpose but looks quite cool on an off road set up.

    Now she won't start!

Ah, now it's starting to make sense, as there is a bear bit of the battery neg which wasn't actually connected to anything. But it's been earthing through the handbrake all this time! As I say, only left everything as is to test the gearbox. Have ordered some new earth cables and once they...

    Now she won't start!

Well as suspected it was a dodgy earth. Funny thing is that when I reconnected the handbrake she started no bother. Is this safe? I'm not going to get an electric shock touching the seat box or anything? Have left it as is for now anyway so I could focus on getting everything running right...

    Now she won't start!

I did wonder what an exciter wire was. I was going to Google it first before I looked stupid though

    Now she won't start!

Cheers guys, won't get a chance to take a look at her until Sunday now but will report back then.

    Now she won't start!

I have the negative earth from the battery bolted to the back of the transfer box. This was how it was when I dismantled. Am I missing something else? Thanks for the help by the way.

    Now she won't start!

Some of you might have seen my recent thread about refitting the gearbox. She's all fitted now, everything bolted up and comes time to try her out. So when I turn the key I get two lights on the dash. Oil and Battery. But the battery gauge doesn't raise as it usually would and the glow plug...
