Right, ok fuel pump it is then. Been looking through various forums about this fault and somewhere i read that some early TD5's didnt have this self bleed feature. (turn on ignition, pump throttle 5 times etc..) Is this the case? Since mine is a 1999 im guessing thats an 'early' in which case...

Called the AA. He thinks the pump is knackered, but why would just changing the filter cause that to fail?

Ok but it's NEVER made any noise. I've posted about my silent fuel pump on here before as I thought it wasn't right that I couldn't hear it but it has been running up until changing the filter. Is there another way if bleeding the system??
