oh i'd say so......CO measurement was 3.6 and the limit is 0.3.......i have sourced some, albeit one from cheltenham and 1 from Evesham!......had to angle grind the exhaust in two, then one of the studs snapped off....oh well, round 2 tomorrow.... And yes....i bought a MAF from ebay.......maybe...

Just been told i need 2 x lambda sensors, new maf and a new catalytic converter. Bought the lambda's off ebay, took a week to come, to find they were too big!!!! Anyone know which ones i need and where i can get them from please? My chassis is ....TA320002. For a 1995 HSE 4.6 Could have done...

i bought one for my escort 1.8 ghia x.......it was £100 (Ford wanted £300). It was great for first 3 days, then clogged up and slowed the car down again. That's what I'm worried about this time around.......great price, but there's a reason......i dont know...

I know the lambda's on ebay are being sold as bosch, but the MAF was not branded at all, except they stated "made in our factories in the US".......

Well, had my car in the garage today. Nasty ball-bearing sound coming from both cats (rattling). Emissions tests came back with 3.6 and the limit is 0.3. Been told I need new MAF, 2 x lambda's and a cat system. Found them all on ebay, delivered, for £333, bit not sure what I will get for...

i say he is a 'dealer'.....he says he deals in cars (had a few outside his private dwelling). Not sure where i still stand if i do discover the head gasket/liners have gone? He did tell me on the phone last night that he and his mechanic had checked and that the head gasket had definately not...

plugs now changed to NKG's, think slightly better but dont know. Got a set of leads coming, but am now fearing coil pack.......

funnily enough, it sounded like the exhaust was blowing....but wasn't......throaty noise coming from mid/front section underneath.....

good example......rev it to say 3,000 revs, hold it there, and it doesn't sound/feel smooth

hmm....it may not be a mis-fire tho.....i am not used to the sound of a V8, but when it revs, it feels burbly and shakes the car slightly......

i am supposed to be picking the car up tomorrow......bought off autotrader last week. Even the 'dealer' said he suspected a slight mis-fire. He has changed the plugs for me but is still not happy. Said I could chuck money at it and never find the problem.....I have a friend who is a mechanic...

sounds like collapsed cat.......does it rattle when nudged with your hand? On the same note, i have black plugs and the same mis-firing through the rev range...changing to NGK plugs seems to have made it slightly better (although I could just be thinking that).....could I have the same issue...
