First time buyer in need of help choosing a good 'un

Thanks guys, still looking but the advice has been great and I've been able to discount a few overpriced or poor examples. I can't wait to report back with pictures of my new P38

Thanks for the advice chaps, I'm definitely going to go for a 99-01 model with a V8 (no diesel here, thank you very much) for the £2500-£3000 range. The rest I'll save for parts and repairs :)

Found another one LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER 4.6 V8 HSE AUTO BLUE | eBay What do you think? Mileage sounds low but it's the earlier engine.

Thanks @brianp38dse it looks like its moot as the seller has ended the auction. Back to trawling the internet.

Well it's on the eBay watch list just in case I feel keen.

    addicted to v8's

I read the answers wrong. I voted for what I thought said 'No fecking way am I buying a diesel, are you mad' instead I realise I've voted for the horrible 'No fecking way, why would I buy a proper engine when I can have a diesel instead' Doh!

Don't do that. I've been working non stop recently and I need a toy so I don't need encouragement to buy something mad. :D

That second one looks like a beauty and the colour combo is very nice. Sadly, I'm working in London until Saturday so wouldn't be able to get up there to test drive before the auction expires. Is it worth a blind punt for the right price or should I test, test, test before committing?

If it was simple everyone would be doing it I suppose.

Thank you gentlemen for all your advice, I'm still looking but been a little quiet due to a hefty work schedule. It sounds like the £3500-£4000 range is the sweet spot with some contingency for work. I'm after something as late as possible with all the toys, which I believe is the Vogue spec?

If I can spend less then great but I don't really have the facilities for welding or a ramp so looking for a good one to start with and do the work from a good start.
