Thanks for this. Yes it's a TD4 engine and it's had today a new rear fuel pump and that made no difference. Will try replacing the sensor.

yes, I'm sure the clutch is going full travel and it makes no difference if you pump the clutch. Also, when you put the clutch pedal flat on the floor and the Freelander is stationary on the flat it creeps forward.
