Been having some problems with my 2004 TD5 Defender (never got it resolved from last year) - if it is left standing for more than 5 days the battery doesn't seem to have enough power to successfully crank the engine over and start up.
Took the following readings with a multimeter:

Hi, hoping someone can give some advice on this (and yes I know it should probably be in the 'common faults' forum but I don't seem to have access?)....
My 2004 90 TD5 XS has 55k on the clock and recently it's got a habit of running the battery flat! It's fine if I use it every couple of...

Had the TD5 90 remapped at JE Engineering + a EGR valve blanking.
Just opted for the stage 1 tune and now had around 170bhp and loads of torque - still doesn't drive like a sports car (what do you really expect) but much more responsive!
Would recommend to anyone!!!!

No problem MauriceT - but not getting it done until mid-May....
From all accounts it should make the TD5 much better on major roads etc.... but it is still a Defender so not expecting sports car like performance :(

As Chico mentioned.... taking the TD5 to JE Engineering (nr. Coventry) next month....
Stage 1 remap lifts performance to 170bhp (guess that is just there standard measured figure - obviously each engine will vary) and 375 Nm of torque.

Regardless of peoples views of Vince/ProTrax it seems like a great opportunity to drive an excellent site and support a worthy charity - plan to be there!

Shame about the Liverpool FC flag on your bonet - I'm a fan but not too sure how long that will last in Norfolk....

Just waiting for you to get stuck mate so the new ARB recovery strap can venture out of the boot :)

Currently looking at a power upgrade for my 2004 TD5.... couple of options I have identified so far are the 'stage 2' from TD5 Alive or JE Engineering.
Anyone had any experience of either of these companies or have any other suggestions?

Thanks for the advice - I'll give it a go if/when I get stuck and let you know if anything breaks :(

Hi
Just wondered if anyone has any good ideas for green lanes in Norfolk or Suffolk?
Also, planning a trip to the Kings Forest area just south of Thetford - anyone been to this area before and have any tips?
Thanks

I recently purchased a 2004 Defender 90 and it was already fitted with a tubular front bumper, including a couple of swivel recovery eyes. Think it is the same as the 'SHADOW' - see attached link....
