    Disco 2 Alternator woes

I took a look I must confess my heart was not fully in it and on top of that it was cold and I had time pressures. So after those poor excuses I have to confess that I could not get my hand to the connector and rgus could not perform the test. If the inlet manifold (I think) wasn't in the way it...

    Disco 2 Alternator woes

Thanks! When I get home I will send my smaller handed wife out to undo that! (I will try first - honest)Then I can check if the battery still gets shorted what is the point of connecting the white/green wire on the alternator to the positive terminal? (or was that to the white/green wire in...

    SLS not working...

In the end it was the fusible link - thanks for all the help. I don't really understand why we need two fuses for the same circuit but I'm certainly happy that the fusible link blew rather than the compressor - despite the cost of the things. Thanks for all your help

    SLS not working...

Its a 7 seater - I thought there were legal issues with that Anyway, I like the air suspension (when it works)

    SLS not working...

I finally got 20 minutes today to progress this - between the torrential rain showers :-( I checked the fuses - 10A - fine I tried jacking her chassis up with the engine running and the doors closed but this did no good. I tried feeling the compressor box for any vibration but if there...

    SLS not working...

Yup the doors were very shut - I've been caught out by that before - it was dark and no internal lights were on before I turned the ignition. I'll definitely give the jacking a go - easy enough - cheers

    SLS not working...

Yes, I disconnected the battery before hand and only reconnected it when it was all back together.

    SLS not working...

Its all dark and wet now - I'll have a look tomorrow. What are the likely causes? Or are we saying that the compressor has died?

    SLS not working...

I can't hear it! The problem is I don't remember particularly hearing it before. The engine note changes a couple of seconds after starting - that about all I notice.

    SLS not working...

Hi - apologies for this probable duplicate... 2 weeks ago, the RHS air bag fully inflated and stayed that way. I got her home and left her there unti lI could do something about it (today!) It was likely to be a ride sensor failure so I bought a new one. I bled the air from the bag by...

    Transmission swap....

Spring is coming... I have a nice low mileage '04 D2 Premium automatic (with CDL) and an '02 D2 manual (with ecu remap, bigger intercooler, nicer turbo etc) both running ok. I don't enjoy driving the automatic (!!) - I have tried - honest Would it be viable to swap the auto for the manual...

    Security screws...

I was wondering about replacing all the externally accesible screws with security head screws. I'm particularly thinking of the long screws that hold the fancy rear light 'guards' on. The local screw-merchant did not have anything in stock, said they'd struggle to get anything with black...
