SLS not working...

Hi - apologies for this probable duplicate...

2 weeks ago, the RHS air bag fully inflated and stayed that way.
I got her home and left her there unti lI could do something about it (today!)
It was likely to be a ride sensor failure so I bought a new one.
I bled the air from the bag by loosening the connection at the compresor and replaced the ride sensor.
I then put it all back together, the electrics were nicely back in place with a little silicon.
I turned on the ignition, expecting the car to rise - nothing

I went round the car slammed all the doors shut and tried again - still nothing.
Even a short journey got nothing.

When I stopped her after the short journey I could hear the SLS clicking to try and level the car.

So, what have I missed? Something big and obvious I hope!

I can't hear it!

The problem is I don't remember particularly hearing it before.

The engine note changes a couple of seconds after starting - that about all I notice.

start landy close doors and have a look under passenger side of car big black box. should hear it working if not remove cover two twist screws lift off and put hand on compressor to see if working.

Its all dark and wet now - I'll have a look tomorrow.

What are the likely causes?

Or are we saying that the compressor has died?

Check the fusible link under the bonnet and the relay beside it

Was the battery disconnected before the height sensor was changed,if not it may need hawkeye or similar to reset it

Yes, I disconnected the battery before hand and only reconnected it when it was all back together.

try jacking the back up part way to see if it kicks in,you did have all of the doors shut?

Yup the doors were very shut - I've been caught out by that before - it was dark and no internal lights were on before I turned the ignition.

I finally got 20 minutes today to progress this - between the torrential rain showers :-(

I checked the fuses - 10A - fine

I tried jacking her chassis up with the engine running and the doors closed but this did no good.

I tried feeling the compressor box for any vibration but if there was any it was overpowered by the engine vibration on the chassis.

I got Hawkeye on her and that said all the doors were closed but the rest of the readings are opaque to me - for example there was only 0 to 0.28 volts (flickering between the two) on the compressor.

I have no idea if this is right or not - though it looks dodgy - is there a reference source somewhere that would show the expected values?

Anything else I can check (when the weather breaks next)?

Yes, check if a coil conversion is in stock!

Its a 7 seater - I thought there were legal issues with that

I have read that before as well. But somewhere I seen something about some came with 7 seats and springs from the factory!
Mine is like that!!

In the end it was the fusible link - thanks for all the help.

I don't really understand why we need two fuses for the same circuit but I'm certainly happy that the fusible link blew rather than the compressor - despite the cost of the things.
