Hello @Mark Piercy, I done all the check you post and unfortunately non solved the problem. In the end I took the gearbox out and replaced with another one and it seems to be working fine now.

Thanks, oil levels are fine I'll check the gear lever. It's on 112000, as far as I know it's never really done much towing apart from a caravan from time to time.
