Jumpy headlight stalk in the cold

Hi there I noticed something quirky about the headlight stalk on my 2002 TD5 110 CSW that only happens in cold weather (late autumn through early spring). 1) If I push the headlight stalk to side lights (1st switch position) everything is fine 2) If I push the stalk to main dipped beam (2nd...

Where do this little things go?

Thanks. I did one hinge without them, then stopped for the day. Will stick the rings on that one, and do the rest next week.

Where do this little things go?

Hi there I got a set of replacement Britpart door hinges for my 2002 TD5 110 CSW, and included are lots of little plastic rings.. or very stiff O rings. The original hinges that I've taken off don't seem to have them... any guidance on where they should on in relation to the picture below...

I was opening a blue bag whilst reading your post.... Had to smile when I saw my retaining plates.

Dinitrol - How important is the drying out stage?

My local independent also said to spray engine oil diluted with diesel twice a year, instead of doing dinitrol, because used oil is free. I wasn't so keen on used oil... partly because it's nasty stuff (but I guess I could use fresh oil instead), partly because of the frequency of renewal. How...

Dinitrol - How important is the drying out stage?

Hi Tottot, by cleaning do you mean just quick jet wash? I found abit of a flaky area underneath some semi intact coating behind the front passenger suspension spring - bit scared to poke too hard ;)

Dinitrol - How important is the drying out stage?

Hi there I want to treat my 2002 TD5 110 CSW chassis to a full DIY dinitrol treatment. Have been reading up on it, and seems recommendation is to jet wash chassis... then steam clean it.... then let it dry out for 4-5 days... then do the treatment. Am wondering how essential is the drying out...

    New Starter Motor?

Hi Nobber, timeline was sort of 3 week ago) Fired on the button every time 2 weeks ago) Relay clicked, starter didn't turn over unless I rocked the tub... when it did decide to turn it fired on the button. Battery looked good at 12.6V, cleaned up all the external contacts. Since then (well...

    New Starter Motor?

Hi there Got a 2002 TD5 110 CSW. Last few weeks been having intermittent trouble starting the tub... turning the key gives the relay click, but starter motor didn't turn over. Checked battery, cleaned up starter motor terminals which seemed to help, but didn't totally fix it, maybe 1/20 times...

NS Passenger Dipped Headlight Keeps Blowing Fuse

All fixed. I took it to my local independant... he took off the wheel liner trim which gave him access to bits I couldn't see. Live wire had chaffed against somewhere behind the heater intake. Wing harness didn't have all the fir tree clips inserted, so was bouncing around.

    Dum Dum sealant

I was watching a Brittania Restorations video, where the guy gave a tip to reduce water getting inside the doors - he stuck dum dum either end of the door window seals in the corners. Looked like a good idea, but in the absence of dum dum I used black plasticene... seemed to do the trick. It's...

NS Passenger Dipped Headlight Keeps Blowing Fuse

Here's what I did today.... Disconnected the front passenger light.... switched on engine, turned on main (dipped) headlights... fuse blew. OK now I know it's not the light itself. Replaced fuse. Disconnected the main harness to wing harness connector.. switched on engine, turned on main...
