I have replaced both front ABS sensors on 1999 freelander 1.8 and lights have come back on after going over first bump ..
diagnostics show intermittent signal from passenger sensor ??
I have now replaced this sensor twice (two different makes ), taken resistance readings from both sides...

Changed both front ABS sensors on a 2000 1.8 freelander as had 3 amigos and when I read the faults I was told both front sensors had failed .
so changed both sensors and rings and right one was showing "output to low " so sent it back and got another and all was good .
but then the lights...

2000 freelander has 3 amigoes , plugged into my computer and both front sensors electrical failures, will check tomorrow ..
what should resistance be at the plugs ??

Even if you can pull off in 1st then pt it back into drive ??

when you put it into drive nothing happens but if you go to 1 it puulls fine and then through the box all good ????

Auto all the way , I love manuals but the disco is so agricultural in a manual and the auto a completely different car ..
In the mud its great and effortless , much kinder on the drive train and far less likely to brake something like a LR chocolate drive shaft or CV ..
I've had both manual...

the horn and siren are seperate but disconnecting it may set it off if you havent turned it off first

as you say its already been welded , if had never been welded and never needed it and was mint then maybe ..
but as already said £2000 it is a 17 year old motor
