    TD4 hesitation

Every now and again, my 04 TD4 hesitates slightly at pulling away. Its never stalled yet but feels on the verge of doing so every now and then. This is not great as I live next to the A1 and have to cross to the middle and pull away from the middle in quick succession on a daily basis. I'm...

Tailgate window regulator advice + parts/servicing in Melbourne

Go for the new one, ebay one ended up costing me £900 in investigation works and replacement

Rear tail gate dooor and window won`t open

First thing to check is the cables driving the window. That was my problem to start with and just got worse when I fitted a faulty new rear window mechanism. Ended up costing £900 to find out the new mechanism was indeed faulty!

    rear window problem

Try taking off the back panel and greasing the runners, they are notoriously dry. There is a chance that you will snap a cable if it keeps running like that. The calibration sequence is to disconnect the battery for a few minutes and then re connect. The rear window will lower to the bottom...

    Brake lights suddenly Disappeared!!!

Easy to replace, it just twists 45 degrees to the right and out it pops, disconnect the multiplug and connect to the new and pop back in the same way, even I did it!!

    rear window problem

It could be a snapped cable in the winding mechanism, it happens quite a bit. The window wiper won't work if it thinks that the window is not fully up either, they are linked. I presume the rear won't wipe when the front wipers are on and you select reverse either? There is a great deal of...

Freelander reversing lights, window and wiper woes

As a final note to this thread, the suppliers of the defective rear winder mechanism Steve Parker Land Rover in Rochdale took the unit back, tested it and gave a full refund on the cost of it. A good egg is Dave there!!

Freelander reversing lights, window and wiper woes

If it saves someone on here a few quid I'll be happy, I've saved a bundle by taking advice from people like OP on this forum myself before. If everyone puts a little back I'm sure most problems can be sorted without resorting to rip off merchants.

Freelander reversing lights, window and wiper woes

Well, at last its all fixed. It cost £782 including parts but its back on the road at last. The story went like this: The 3 amigo's came on and fuse F2 blew, this was when I selected reverse gear but only happened every couple of times. At the same time the rear window stopped doing what it does...

Freelander reversing lights, window and wiper woes

Mine is now in an independent garage in Lincolnshire and has been for 3 days, they have not yet found the problem although they can power the rear bits with testbook. I'll let everyone know the outcome once I know.

    Independent dealer

Anyone know of a decent independent dealer near Grantham Lincs that might have Testbook?

    New CCU

Would that not have shown as a stored fault on the CCU when LR dealer re programmed it? They said that there was no stored faults on the CCU although they did not even check the operation of the rear end after doing it! They even carried out an MOT on it straight after, it passed even though the...

    New CCU

Tried that, even showed it to the auto electrician who had a good go but seems to me like the problem must be from the reverse light switch to the CCU, maybe a broken wire. I'm sure the reversing lights link through the CCU as it needs to operate the rear wiper when you select reverse if the...
