Adding rear seats to a 'Utility' Defender and the law.

Right, so have done an bit more digging on the old tinterweb and reworded the questions in google and come up with more info. You cannot carry more passengers than the number of seats stated on the V5. - So answering my own question from earlier and reiterating what has already been covered by...

Thank you. This clears a lot up but also makes it very clear that to stay legal (God forbid the wheels came off or something) VOSA / DLVA need to be consulted - and having dealt with them before there lies a whole new set of head aches.

OK, thank you. But you will have to bear with me here. Honest, I'm not being deliberately thick - just want it straight in my mind. If the vehicle is post 2006 and has never had a second row / extra passenger seat fitted from new then the only option for extra seats is of the forward facing...

Yeah, I do get that. And the condition is as important than the year. But I am trying to comfirm my points raised in my first post, although all advise is gratefully received. Yes, I can afford the extra £150 but I don't really want to pay it. Not true regarding the seats though. 90 / 110 pick...

Registered before April 2006 though I take it? I do not want to be paying £460 a year RFL

Hi All, Now before everyone tells me to:search:for my answer, I have done my best to look around the forum but have not been able to come up with what I would consider the definitive answers. I am looking to buy a Defender with a minimum of 4 seats but want to stay in the lower Road Fund...

    S3 coiler 300tdi traditional style

OK - never read that anywhere but can't deny it as true or false. TBH the only reporting of the whole incident that I followed was on the TV news - obviously quite heavily reported locally seeing as the case was heard at Lincoln Crown Court. I am only commenting from gut feeling and having been...

    S3 coiler 300tdi traditional style

This is a good old discussion :) One thing I would like to say is that I used to be in the same off road club as Gresh and I feel the whole situation surrounding the reporting of his crash and the state of his truck by the media was more than biased - the vehicle was well prepared and nothing...

    Newbie from Lincoln

Hi all, Just joined the group and finding loads of interesting reading. I was lucky enough to be given a 1959 Series 2 for my 18th birthday, but that was 24 years ago and the Landy is long gone due to my lack of mechanical knowledge. The mechanical knowledge hasn't increased an awful lot...

    Comments on leafsprings vs. Coil

Hi all, :5bseeya: new to the forum and have come across this post in my own personal search for information on the coil vs leaf spring subject. The main part of this thread has been an eye opener and provided great and usefull information. However, I am very perplexed as to the negative...
