110 200tdi headlight not getting power

When my n/s main beam fuse kept blowing, I found the wiring loom trapped between the heater air intake and the bodywork, and the insulation had been chafed through, causing a dead short. Something similar might be happening to you.

    Viscous fan removal

Never mind, there's always the good old GPO. The spanners weigh about 1.5 kilo - postage would only be about £5 or so.

I'm in the depths of Argyll. Where are you?

First and obvious thought - it will quickly get scruffy!

    Viscous fan removal

I know this has been discussed before, but it has certainly left me confused. I have just removed the viscous fan from my 2004 Td5 D90, courtesy of a spanner set fron Difflock, and can confirm that the thread is right-handed; i.e. the nut unscrews anti-clockwise. I hope this helps. BTW, if...

FYI Scorpion Racing do an ECU extension cord to let you re-locate it. Not recommending it; just letting you know!

    Which Gearbox and Tranfer Box????

When the bearing's not under load, its component parts are free to move relative to each other. If its old/worn/dry, the clearances can be enough to set up a rattle.

    Rear crank oil seal

You know the old saying.... if its not leaking oil, there's no oil in it!

    Which Gearbox and Tranfer Box????

A rattle that disappears when the clutch is pressed is usually a knackered release bearing. If the gearbox is coming off, you'd probably overhaul the clutch anyway.

how long to fit full size intercooler

Took me about half a day. It's fiddly, and you have to be careful not to damage either the intercooler, the radiator, or the a/c radiator if fitted. The mod is worthwhile, though. Power and economy improve.

    Front wheel bearings TD5

This thread started me thinking!! I'm relatively new to the LZ, so haven't read everything, but has anyone ever suggested a tool sharing scheme? If a few people each paid, say, a fiver to borrow that 52mm socket, it would ease the pain.

    uprated intercoolers and snorkals???

If a snorkel reduces air-flow slightly, ( and I do mean if; don't forget there's a turbo sucking it in ), then a decent intercooler will more than make up for it. Go for it.

    Allisport intercooler TD5

I got my intercooler from JE Engineering. Nice piece of kit, well made and works well. Bit of a bugger to fit though. But then I guess they all are.
