check injector washers and o rings, doesnt always lose diesel, but can cause hard starting issues, another comon hard start issue is the conectors on the glow plugs, they should be tight and make good contact. good luck
can be done without removing the housing, undo circlip and takeout unit, either replace o rings or if regulator is shot you can get a new regulator, 4 bar pressure regulator from an audi dealer. it fits perfectly and lasts longer ....
your injectors are pulling fuel through the system,it will run like this for a while untill the revs drop low enough. theary that the system is under pressure is correct, it will start normally and then draw fuel mechanically,it wont perform well but will ceep goin.
