I have changed my fan belt and checked the tensioner I took it off to check the bearing on it and it was all fine. How would you know if the springs shot inside this squeaking is driving me mad haha. Any ideas ? All the pulleys are ok and have no play in them

When I had the tensioner off I checked the bearing but could it be the springs inside and how would I know if they are shot?

Just been looking at crank pulleys hope it's not :-( £££ won't sleep now haha

Thanks agew. Good luck with yours. Was thinking about the water pump, the temps are all ok so wasn't sure might be worth swapping. I was wanting to start with the simple things and hope I find the problem without to much pain

My td5 defender is squeaking like mad I changed the fan belt and it fixed it for a few days, the squeak returned so thinking that now the belt had slackened off it may allow play on the bearings in the pulleys and the tensioner. I have stripped them all off and checked the bearings only to find...

haha good answers, mine does this to and i have tried to look for where its coming from and cant find it!!! its annoying but i have given in to it
