  • so are you up for a little dander through the countrside this weekend? I will probably go and see what its all about... I can bring the maps along and maybe after the drive we could stop at a pub and have a pint and look at anouther route? let me know... saturday would be good.. as I may go off roading at pay and play tixova sunday..
As far as I was aware you just have to ring the council and ask them if it's a public right of way, and if it has a TRO on it. I'm afraid my technical knowledge of cars is non-existent! My only experience of gunk in the cap was a blown head gasket :-( but I think there are other things like it could be stop-leak stuff in the coolant system.
No, Ive never driven any of them but peakirk is very very mild, just a gravel track but pretty long.... so shouldn't have any issue, I baught 2 maps, OS land ranger 1:25,000 and a OS explorer map at 1:50,000 (just waiting to receive explorer) you clearly see all the lanes... what you then have to work out is which ones you can use and which you have to get landowners permission? not sure how you do that...knock their door?
I still have some issues with my SJ too... fuel air carb setup is way out, not sure how to do it, play in steering? and I may have an issue with head on its way out, I get mayo in the cap? hopeing its just condensation... so Im going to go for a good run this weekend to see what happens... will probably have a look at the byway at peakirk then...
hi pal, yeah I would be up for that... Im in Werrington peterborough so close to peakirk alread....
what do you drive? and where do you live?
I have already spoke to the top dog at peterborough CC he said its ok to use Peakirk, but not Thorney as its to wet or suv-ey wood (not a byway, map error) their are also lots over at whittlesey...
I can manage an easy track on my AT's but for anything harder I would need to arrange something to take my other wheels and tyres as I dont really want to be driving with them on rd as I used them and drove around 30mile and it caused a lot of damage to them they are 33"x12.5"x15" huge... so cant fit them in Sj, when off roading at tixova etc I will ask my friend to take them on his trailer then I will change them over their, It a bit of a hassle but saves wrecking them... I may end up selling them and getting some slightly smaller in width.
