installed new rotors, carriers & pads after finally (after at least a year) diagnosing a noisy off-side front brake. Seized guide pin for the win. Inner pad, rotor & carrier were toast. Been living with a seized clutch release fork for about 2 years - savings in petrol over the past few months...

disconnecting the coolant temperature sensor causes the radiator fan to run continuously - it is likely that the sensor has failed or broken/corroded wires or connectors.

clutch release lever was seized - angle grinder said hello to 27mm impact socket to cut out 2 adjacent faces - socket & breaker bar made short work of freeing up the shaft from the bell housing. Plenty of Plusgas, obvously. 20 mins of working it back and forth got it properly freed up.

so I have the slipping clutch issue & obviously need to pull the gear box & unseize the clutch actuating lever - but since I will need a new seal & can't find the part online I need the info - part number or a pointer at a site where I can get the seal.

pulled the prop shafts & vcu, prompted by a metalic rattle from under the car when moving and a repetative thumping from the rear left in low speed corners or at low speed decelerating to a stop in gear.
Took it for a drive after removing the the props and vcu - all the noises are gone away.

well, the MIL likes to light up every now and then and the code it calls is cat not running at full efficiency so I did kind of know. I just clear the code and keep on truckin but I think you're right that it will need to be replaced by next April

spent 3 hours on wednesday night in the pouring rain wrestling off the old track rod ends and fitting the new ones - took it for an alignment yesterday - took it for mot today. It only f-in passed! emissions were over so the tester rev'd the nuts off it till it came within spec, bless him.

fixed it!
went to the garage and had them pull out the dent as much as they could - they used a chain round the spare wheel bracket and fixed the othe end to an I-beam concreted into the ground and drove away till the dent pulled out while I stood and winced.
Window still didn't want to retract...
