I know from the outboard side they have a generator (stator) and a trigger. The generator provides the power and the trigger tells when to spark. These are checked with a dva meter. They also have base resistance readings. Hope this helps.

I use a fabric strap wrench to hold the shock. Pump pliers work well aswell but can damage the shock.

Same buzz gun. Got a snap on battery buzz gun. If that doesn't do it I get out the air 3/4 drive one. That then does it or sheers it.

problem solved now. thanks for the advise. changed the engine in the end to a 200tdi. all good now. It was the head in the end being cracked and the engine builder didnt find it.

I reakon battery even though you said not. I have had the same prob and the battery didnt have much voltage in it but the lights still came on.

try adrian flux as mates got a rr bobtail and got insurance from them.

If it is leaking up to the turbo the boost diaphragm on the side of the pump is knackered and that is prob what is causing the problem. If you take the pump to a specialist they can test it and change the part cheaply. Mine has just had a full rebuild with all new internals and it only cost...

not sure on that one. Got another set to try now and see what happens. The starter over run clutch now packed up so gotta fix that first before I can start it. It all goes at the same b****y time doesnt it.

That is far to excessive on the voltage. max should be 14.5 -15. Change the alternator before it frys the battery.

Make sure the battery is charged and holds it. Is the cap dry and clean? Are the points clean and gapped correctly? Change the plugs? Try that and if not take out all the plugs and earth them to the block and see if you have a spark on all cylinders. If this is good fresh fuel and it should be...

I agree with GRUNT. I was told you can only buy these sockets in 3/4.

It looks clean. Could be damp but I removed the feed pipe to the tubo and it is still the same.

Thats what I thought but I checked all that with a dti and reset it with a diesel specialist and it is still the same. I will try it again though to be sure.

It is not water. It has a fine smell of diesel in the smoke. It cant be glazing as it has had a rebore and the engine is like new. The injection pump has also been rebuilt. It also has a new turbo fitted. I checked the turbo and it is not leaking oil into the hose to the inlet and there is no...
