It's a 200tdi engine. I'm fitting a slightly bigger heater matrix if I can make it fit which already has a flow valve that I was hoping to utilise. A bypass valve would do the job though... Thanks :)

OK, thanks. It starts off as normal, but shoots up to red once it gets up to working temp, so I assume it's not jammed just over reading the engine temperature without the glass cover on. I'll buy some new glass, hoover it out to remove any dust and see what happens unless there are any other...

Yep, that's from when it used to be a Police 90 in Manchester and someone shot an air rifle pellet into the side of it just missing the bobby stood next to it. Can't take out those bits of history, they make great stories.

Hardly the same thing is it? Mondeo and Sierra are completely different cars. The 90 and the Defender are exactly the same, just called different names when the Disco came out. So a more accurate analogy would be the Pajero / Montero / Shogun - All the same, just different badges. Pedantic.... ;)
