Thanks all, much appreciated. Sierrafery; sounds like the easiest to start with so I'll have a look at that first! Cheers.

My Father in Law has a Discovery 4 and in the last few days when he attempts to lock it, the passenger door remains open and the mirrors don't fold into place. The other doors lock and the alarm is engaged.
I've had a Freelander Td4 for a number of years and experienced 'similar' key fob/...

Hi, thanks for the quick replies. No, the console switch/ key in the door doesn't lock or unlock the passenger door. I can only open it using the (inside) handle.

Phew! Thanks for the help and support!

The doors lock and unlock, the red immobiliser light goes on...

Thanks both.
Chris- yep the brake lights are not working- which I hadn't realised. Good to know that it appears to be a simple problem.
Mr Rimmer- cheers, they're pretty local and I'd much rather deal with someone on a recommendation rather than picking a name from a search.

Hi,
I've been browsing the forum and found plenty of posts about The 3 Amigos, which sounds similar, but not exactly like the problem I currently have.
We've just recently acquired an 04 TD4 from my Father in law- well looked after, regularly serviced, no real offroading etc. The other...
