Hi, thanks for the quick replies. No, the console switch/ key in the door doesn't lock or unlock the passenger door. I can only open it using the (inside) handle.

A small spray of electrical contact spray directly into the ignition barrel has done the trick. Phew! Thanks for the help and support!
