my local National Windscreens depot supplied and fitted a heated screen to my 110 rebuild for something silly like <£150 after I broke the original screen refitting it (TBF to me, it did have a huge chip in it so was quite likely to break, even without my hamfistedness). I added a 10min timer...

On it's way Pete. BTW, my local landy garage install them using v long nosed crank-ended needle-nose pliers. Lightly pinching together the locking clips as the clip is pushed against the fork. Im guessing using a short length of pipe slipped over the pushrod.
You may want to warm the clip up in...

Pete, recently I managed to break two of those trying to refit them. I found spares on ebay. However rather than keep breaking them I cleaned the fork seat and pushrod ball end and stuck it in place with a dab of silkaflex and supported the rod overnight on a rag while it cured. Slave fitted...

Mine has a single m10, not currently fitted as the hole doesn't quite line up. I really ought to slacken off each end and try and fix it to the block.

+1 wot Ant said.
Im 90% of my way though a 110 csw refurb.
I bought an '88 plate CSW that had previously been lifted onto a galvanised chassis a few years ago. Some years prior to that it had had a 200tdi put in. But the body, door and obviously the bulkhead were in a poor way.
Ive had the...

Something I noticed while rebuilding the electrics on mine the other day as part of a major rebuild was that if the flasher relay earth was disconnected the trailer light came on on the instrument panel. I didnt notice if the flasher relay clicked or not, but maybe check the quality of the earth...

I bought my first defender in July knowing it would need a bit of TLC. First job, was to re hang the doors. Couldnt get the o/s front door hinge off.
SO it ended up like this:
And it's slowly on its way back
Galv bulkhead, refurb'd or replaced every body panel. New front suspension. 4x...

Ive not published the project on here yet. Might do it at the end if there's enough interest.
The unpainted part is actually a reinforcing/capping piece of aluminium added by the previous owner to cover some major corrosion in the Al floor panel. That point in the floor is where a steel spigot...

Hi tim.
Im a bit of a novice Im afraid, but working through a CSW refurb. As part of which I replaced the rear floor with one salvaged from a written off CSW.
There is a U channel member that runs under the front part of the main floor panel, just in front of where the wheel arches drop. It...

As part of my CSW refurb project I finished the wings the other day. I repainted the lamp surrounds with Halfords plastic bumper paint. It went on well, but only after Id found it did not like to go on cold. Much better at 18deg+.
I also used it on the eyebrows.

I'm about to do similar. I have a donor tub for capping and floor from a scrappy. But I will need to buy a new n/s rear panel.
I was going to pop rivet the mew panel in with a bead of silk a flex between it and the seat box / side panel. Will that be Ok?
