I've slowly been sorting out the gremlins and I'm down to the last - hopefully. I randomly get the indicator relay clicking and the trailer indicator light ghost flashes on the dash. Could be a short or something to do with the alarm but I don't know where to check. The immobiliser works but the alarm sounder is unplugged in the left hand wing as it didn't work.

Where do I start:confused:

Exact answer - probably not.... but if the trailer repeater is glowing I'd be stripping and cleaning the trailer electric socket. Really vulnerable to damage/crud and lots of chances to short across lots of circuits with mud and general corrosion.

After that, well .... I'm just about to attack the rear earth points (apparently behind the interior 'angle' plates under the rear windows..?) as I'm getting occasional strange cross/lighting/glowing from rear wiper/washer to fuel filter water warning lamp (!?) and rear top level brake light has stopped working, but all the assembly and lamp/fittings are sound......

Good luck. A

Something I noticed while rebuilding the electrics on mine the other day as part of a major rebuild was that if the flasher relay earth was disconnected the trailer light came on on the instrument panel. I didnt notice if the flasher relay clicked or not, but maybe check the quality of the earth to the relay.
