Ok primed it properly and ran ok but lost power half a mile then cut out again. Changed fuel regulator and diaphram still cuts out. After its cut out you prime it 3 or 4 times and it will run for half a mile. So in tank pump changed fuel regulator changed fuel filter changed. Had noticed a lot...

Hi td5 gurus can anyone tell me the correct priming sequence following the fitting of the in tank pump. The car runs but dies like its sucking air. I 1st turned ignition on and waited untill the pump went quiet then started it. If it then dies its a sod to start. Any advice is welcome at this stage.

Hi Dave get someone to turn the key while you check you getting voltage to the starter it maybe something simple like the space connector on the solenoid, recently had the same issue and it was the connector. Chopped it of and crimped a new one on took 5 minutes.

hi 23griff, sounds interesting this could be multitude of things, 3 amigos could be 1 of four abs sensors or the shuttle valves, this problem is caused by the cracking of a plastic cover wrapping a small circuit board that reads the viscosity of the brake fluid. Remedy is a new and pump or a mod...

might sound more like a td5 if put my new down pipe on lol that's why it thnks its a v8 just not as smooth tho, as the fluids I'm on it got new steering pump and a new ram for the ace system and that ace fluid is a small fortune. This car was bought as a do er upper and I'm not that far off now...

mines a td5 but thinks its a v8 tho but its far from it, leaks power steering oil,ace fluid, gearbox oil but it must be the only disco on the planet that doesn't rain in its flippin amazing honestly :rolleyes:
