What did you do with your Range Rover today

Was a bit quite after period of active skip and city trips (yes, it made it back from the skip). It took 3 different garages to get an MoT, due the incompetence of the first garage. Booked space to work on fixing the leaking diff. My partner took it for a 100 mile trip yesterday and towards...

Always tempted to fit a rolling message bar at the back window with preset messages such as: -switch your lights on -switch your fog light off (when in the middle of the night) -stay in lane -move to the left lane (when hogging the mid lane)

Changed front drop links. The car is much better in the corners, but the noise is not gone. Will need to further troubleshoot it. Started to look into fixing the rear diff leak. Manual says to change the whole drive shaft. Started to look on how to change it (in the rear), think that need to...

Looking around these days does seem to pay off. Do you mean accept? Why can't you accept the £244 quote?

What did you do with your Range Rover today

There is a LR garage that I trust(ed) and used previously. Whilst they had the car previously for something I cannot recall, I asked them to troubleshoot a knocking that I was sure came from the front. They advised that the rear knuckled needed doing. And that my rear left diff was leaking...

So it was my turn to get another year of car insurance for the L322. My current provider increased it by 55%. Called one of those advertised providers on the back of the Green Lane magazines that is supposed to specialise in 4x4. Quoted me over 2k (over 200% increase), even the operator...

As well, with items that have rubber it seems that if they have been hardly used (i.e. standing for long times), it is as bad as having very heavy use, they do not last as long as with normal wear.

Reasonable expectations are subjective ;) I totally agree with you, but one can say one, the manufacturer other. As well, there is a reason why people tend to say that in older times things were built better...

Unless you get rid of Planned Obsolescence practice, it does not matter where it is manufactured, it is by design. For the economy, business, money money. The usual conversation of quality vs quantity, hence the better stuff costs more. Cost per usage.

Replaced a couple of rear parking sensors, so they now behave and do not have a mind of their own. Installed the battery pins that hold it in place, safety improved. Noticed that the rear tailgate break light is out, but no message and IDToolII not saying anything about it. Do I get a new one...

My renewal is coming up in a few months, so you are giving me hope. But a lot can change in that time. Has anybody tried those 4x4 insurers advertised in LR magazines and the green laneing ones (if you do receive them), how do those compare for you?

"ALL airbags perishing" isn't what they do? they are always perishing, even when doing nothing.

Not sure it is the best test as you were in mud. What speed? Better test it on normal surface. Preferably whilst turning under breaking. Good luck!
