Panic over. I've just had a good look around the engine bay and found what looks like a vacuum tube hanging loose, after re-attaching it to the cylinder head the throttle is back to normal.... Doh

Hi,
I've recently replaced the clutch hydraulics on my 1998 1.8 freelander (turned out to be a broken slave cylinder bracket). As soon as i started it back up afterwards the revs are going through the roof whilst idling (5000+ revs). Could I have disturbed something or am I going to have to...

No it's not the bracket, it's the hydralic 'arm/rod' that seems to be breaking off. The actual cylinder is still attached to the bracket.

HELP....
I've got a 1.8 petrol Freelander. The clutch pedal went slack as I pulled into my street last week, upon inspection the slave cylinder had broken, so I replaced the master and slave - the first time I pressed the pedal to test it the new slave broke as well.
Any ideas as to what...
