Just had a look through your posts, love seeing old discos fixed. To many people get the fear and scrap them. I went through all this on mine and is now solid, tho dose need the body looking at as the paint is little fooked. Think that's a job for latter in the year once I get my engine back...

Now that I have replaced everything I need to in the bottom end of my engine what do people recommend using on the oil pickup, paper gasket like they would of in the factory or a good RTV sealant? Also can you reuse the rear main bearing bolts or are they a use one only stretch bolt?

Thanks Marmaduke That's what I was thinking would happen that the belt would take the tension out the sprocket but was just not sure. I'll get the belt back on tomorrow and see if I can get it all timed up.

Looks like it will take alittle work but once it's finished it will be a cracking vehicle. I used camper van carpet from eBay to re do my roof liner and it came out really good.

Yes you would be right it would be a very bad anti tamper device if it could just be bypassed lol. I think I will strip down my old pump and take a look at it and see if you can swap over the stop solenoid.

Ah right ok. That will explain a lot. So I should be able to remove the multi plug stop solenoid and retrofit the single wire one. Or could I use the multi plug loom and just feed it a 12v feed over the correct pin if I can find out what one it should be?
