I did look at all others but they are all 2 pin plugs, the rear lights are 3 pin, so not completely straighforward (for me). I'll have a go though as don't want to travel with bust light...

One of the contacts is slightly broken which is why the bulb will not connect. foil sounds dicey then...

One of my rear lights is corroded, so the bulb doesn't make the connection. I'm travelling to Andorra tonight and don't really want to do it with a rear light out. It works if I shove a bit og foil in, to make the connectio, is there any reson why I shouldnt do this as a temp fix? Cheers in advance

I need the bulb housing (the bit that the bulb goes in) for a defender puma. They keep corroding and paddocks only sell them with the indicator unit included, anyone know where to just get a housing. I know thr whole unit isnt that expensive but I dont want to start pilling up indicators. Cheers.

Thanks for all the advice and ideas. Unfortunately, tractors are not cheap in France, I'm tempted though... Just had the French MOT done, loads of issues, one being a "gravely worn tyre" - bit of an exaggeration, but I've got to buy new tyres now!

THanks totto, I'll try lowering the pressure, I guess that's what people do when off-roading (which I know nothing about)? Having just had a look, I have more like 0.5cm of tread at the back too, I'll get some new skinnies in time for next winter...

Hard to say if issue went away when new battery was bought, as at that time the problem was so intermittent, but I don't think it did... Strange thing happened today with 2.4 TDCI 110. About to head off on school run, turned key, nothing, no lights nothing. So I prodded batter terminals, turned key and the lights came on, but engine would not turn over - nothing. Thought maybe the fob battery, although I'm sure I replaced it 6...

Yeah I think maybe there was a charging problem, but it was a cheap and cheerful battery too - as you'd expect from the MOD.

Interestingly, while waiting for the new sensor to arrive, I was chatting to a pal who told me that most faults these days are battery related, because there are so many electrical components/sensors in modern engines and they need contact and sufficient power source. So I changed the battery...
