315/75r16 = 34.6 inches high and 12.5inch wide so you will need a lift at the very least 2 inches but possibly a little more. Saying that have you considered 255/100r16? They are 36 inches tall but narrow enough to fit under the guards so not so much pressure on the the steering etc.

Forgive me for stating the obvious but what about mounting it on the bonnet

Way I see it you have 2 options
1. You can get your standard rims sand blasted and powder coated or painted.
And remember standard LR rims are tube type but very high load rating
2. You can buy new tubeless rims in say a 16 x 7 for very similar money maybe cheaper. All depends what look you...

I had a similar thing on my 200tdi recently, it was caused by a dodgy quick release battery connection, have since replaced it with a normal connection and have had no problems since. (well at least with my electrics)

I made my fender tops myself and bent the checker plate by hitting it with a rubber mallet after clamping the plate to the bench with the appropriate amount hanging over the edge
