I’ve taken out my mouldy headliner and the horse hair backing but I’ve left with the black glue on the metal roof. I’ve tried acetone and a blade and it’ll take weeks to remove it.
Would a sanding wheel on a drill or even wire wheel be too much and damage the metal? I want to keep a bare metal...

Hi guys
I’ve done a search and can’t find the specifics I’m looking for.
I’m interested in upgrading my Series 3 109 1982 SW front axle to have CV joints and disc brakes. I can get a turnkey solution for £5k with all new shiny parts but I’m wondering if there’s a workaround with RR front axle...

Hi guys
My Series 2a has the three separate seats on the 2nd row.
Does anyone make a bench seat with the grab handle? I can’t seem to find one anywhere. We’re these a rare option or something?
Also, as my series is a 67, there are no seat belts. I’d like to be able to fix in car seats in the...

Anyone recommend an expert I can speak to about the project and what would be involved?
Cheers

Yes Flat that’s exactly what I had in mind. It would make for a nice looking truck that can be used daily. The points work as chassis, engine and gearbox are all untouched which come to at least 8 points.

Hi guys
Would a 109 series 1 pickup body fit onto a 110 in modified chassis and if so, do you think this would be OK from an SVA perspective? It’d be a good daily having the looks of the series 1 pickup with more modern running gear using old panels from a 109. It seems easier than trying to...

Hi guys
Would it be possible to hinge the doors and rear door using an internal hinge rather than the standard hinges that are not very secure? I realise that this would involve some fabrication work.
I’m planning a respray so bodywork will be involved. Seems like the right time to do this...

Thanks guys
I’ll do some more research. Maybe the P38 base with the 90 body will be the way forward with an SVA. I think kit car insurance will be cheaper than a heavily modified car insurance from what I’ve read.

This is part of the reason to extend for a future conversion.
Would a 110 chassis work by putting a 90 body on but further back without triggering an SVA?

Thanks guys
Is anyone able to help me with a broad list of costs put a D90 body over a P38 rolling chassis? I’d like to keep all the running gear standard for now and focus on getting the body extended to match and resprayed. Later on I could always look at an engine upgrade and drivetrain etc...

Thanks for the responses guys. Really helpful.
Budget wise I guess it would be a replacement for my RR Sport worth about £30k. However taking advice above I don’t want to dump shed loads into a car if it’s worth nowt if I have to sell it in future. Part of the reason of having a D90 is the...

Thanks for the responses.
I was interested in the longer nose but not all the other things on the car.
How do they get around the Q plate? I assume having a replacement off the shelf chassis from Richards or similar wouldn’t get around the issue?

Hi guys
I really like the above Defender and wondering what’s involved with taking a Defender 90 and extending the front chassis by 400mm to achieve this look?
I’m trying to decide whether to start with a cheap donor vehicle or buy a newer Defender 90 and build something similar to this...
