i've recently had a standard one that wasn't red inside, it was off a td5 so don't know if that makes any difference?

can anyone tell me the diameter of a standard salisbury crown wheel , i've bought a heavy duty one and this is about 12 inch,
i was always lead to believe a heavy duty version was painted red inside, is this right ?

sounds like it might be the spider (immobiliser control unit behind centre dash facia) , you can get a bypass connector to get rid of it for a few quid

i've just bought an ex MOD series 3 109 station wagon , it originally had a v8 in it although it's now got a 2 1/4 diesel in it.
it has an 8 digit vin number starting 9319....c
does anyone know how i can find out when it was built? or anything about it?
