cheers
-
Thanks , I will check tomorrow after work , the light is starting to go .
cheers

what I should ask is what is my next things to check , I will study rave later but not great on schematic diagrams ... yes I know the switch switches the earth but then I'm guessing goes to bcu which then I'm lost what happens inside .

I'm a bit lost with all those links etc .
when I bought mine it had a trailer plug on it and it's still on it and the fogs worked last MOT I haven't changed anything .
So what am I looking at ?
cheers

Hell on my 2004 td5 I have no rear fog lights but the switch works and the Tel tail led comes on but no power to the bulb holders in the rear bumper . As this is a bcu system can anyone tell me where to go next please ?
I'm a bit lost .
-
I could weld a peice of Ali bar onto the housing and drill and tap that so a bit more meat potentially
-
it's a td5 and problem is most things go though a bcu or the ECU so not that simple and the dash guage is built in the dash board not individual clocks like a defender or a series . it's on a disco 2

Hello , I like to add a additional coolant temperature guage and sensor with the warm weather and doing quite a bit of Laning up hills and the like .
My question is where is a good place to put the fitting tube for the sensor ? In the top hose before the head connection ?
Thanks in advance

Il give a go with a power probe first , is there any connection plugs between the stalk and the fuseboard do you know ?
The loom looks a right pain to get at at the rear of the dash cavity !
-
but there is no continuity from the multiplug from the stalk ( blue with red trace ) to a plug to the rear of the fuseboard with the plug not plugged in ruling out the fuseboard surley ?
-
I could feed the back of the board end of plug with the power probe .
-
cheers Andy I've found I got power to the switch on the multiplug and out when switched on but the fuses on the fusebox under the column has no power . Found the same colour wire as the out from the switch on the rear of the board, there is no continuity there . I'm guessing there is...

On my 2004 td5 I have lost dipped headlamps but working sidelights and main beam and flash. With the ignition on a lights switched on there is no power at either of the fuses under the steering column .
studying the schematic I see in the engine fuses box , fuseable link 10 feeds the stalk...

comfort .... there quite a bit of comfort compared to driving a 200tdi defender from swindon to Manchester and back ! yes the steering lock isn't great !
