Personally, I'd use the cheapest fillament headlight I can find. That way, when you inevitably clobber some wildlife, replacing is quick, cheap and easy!

I have to vote for a quality, branded lamp. I put J W Speaker's on mine, and haven't regretted it. You'll need to spend a few quid, but the difference in output and definition of the beam is chalk vs cheese. (I know as I put a 'cheap' set off Ebay on first, and they wouldn't have passed the MOT)

I will only give you two pieces of advice when buying your first Defender..... 1) Make sure you have plenty of money in your bank account 2) Ensure you have good breakdown cover in place.

Heavy ice on mine is about 3 minutes. Mist is about 90 seconds. Wouldn't go back to a non-heated if you paid me.
