HI
I am placing new top hats on the tub of my Defender 110. They look longer than the required length.
I need advice on two details, please.
1) Does the end toward the back door sits on position 1 or 2?
2) Am I supposed to shorten it so the end that goes under the floor support can be...

Thanks.
Because they are fixed with aw type of solid rivet. By looking at the head of the rivet inside the tub I can see the solid rivet head, besides, I have an air rivet gun and the snap set, as well.
Standard rivet are used along the top of the bracket, where the bracket goes over the top hats.

Thanks Miktdish... but still about my concern, any issue if they are put back in place with solid rivets?

HI folks
May I ask you if there would be any issue if I removed the tub top hats in order to clean up in the rebuild process, and then replace them with solid rivets?

Hi
I will get a set of the pedals in the link below. Has anyone here installed them, and how to install the throttle pedal? I took a look at my defender throttle pedal, and it looks like a type of hard plastic and very narrow, hence I do not see how it could be drilled on it.
Thanks...

Thanks for everyone's input... although there is product on the market that seems promising it is called Clearshot by Rustbullet.
It is a clear coat super tough paint that could work, as it would preserve the natural colour of the aluminium. I think I will try that.

That natural aluminium color gets terribly tarnished… i would like something different, since I am in the processing of rebuilding the jeep.

Has anyone painted the bellhouse? What colour?

Hi
I am rebuilding my Defender and I would like suggestions on what are the best options of stone chip brand I can get to spray under the tub and wings, please.
Also, please let me know how I should pre-treat under the tub and wings to apply the stone chip.
Thanks.

Hi
On my bulkhead there is this round hole. Is this factory default? For what? Can I weld a patch on it, to stop water ingress?
Please see arrow point at the hole in the image below.

Brief update... Defender will no longer be Camel Trophy Yellow... It will be wrapped in British Racing Green.
Thanks for all in the input.

Yeah, I see... and agree with you, it is glossy, and brighter, it should have been mate... It was sprayed by a professional, so I am thinking, could it be the case the true Camel Trophy Yellow LRC361 can only be obtained from Land Rover, and the professional mixed the colour in order to obtain...

Folks
I am having my Defender 110 re-sprayed in Camel Trophy Yellow. My wife is horrified!
Is it really that bad? Please give me your opinions.
Also, if I ever have to sell it, would this color become a hindrance?
Thanks you all!

Hi
I have not managed to disassemble it in order to check its part number.
However, I have obtained the part number elsewhere. It is FTC5297.
